Yoga is completely different from other kinds of workouts, and so are your yoga clothes. Refining a downward dog or trying a new balance pose can be challenging enough on its own, but it’s even harder to choose the right comfortable yoga clothes.

Your choice in purchasing yoga clothing is not subjective but much of a personal preference which also depends on the style of Yoga you plan to practice. It totally depends on your comfort and flexibility. A lot of years ago, yoga clothes were considered as a matter of function and not a fashion trend, but you’ll now find yoga gear with different styles, colours, mesh cut-outs, stylish patterns and much more. While all this is fun, comfort always comes first. So, if you are looking to buy some yoga clothes then here are some tips that can help you choose the comfiest yoga clothes ever.

Avoid Loose Clothing

Most of us think, wearing something comfortable means to wear something loose. That’s completely different when it comes to yoga. Avoid any loose shirts or tank tops that are likely to topple over your head. Always remember when you buy yoga clothes make sure that they fit snuggly on both your hips and waist. Also, you don’t wanna fall for nip-slips and accidental tummy exposure while you do a downward dog pose because of your “too loose” clothing.

Focus on the fabric

Choosing the right clothes also mean choosing the right type of fabric. While you focus on the comfort factor it’s equally important for you to pick the right fabric. Many yoga clothes are made with polyester, nylon and spandex blends. These fabrics offer the right balance of comfort and stretch. They also help you keep cool while wicking the moisture away from your body. You could also for natural fabrics like cotton, know best for its breathability.

The Right Yoga Bra

Planning to wear your same old regular bra for your yoga sessions? Girl, you might regret this later. Plain and simple, your regular everyday bra is not what would work for a workout session. Choose a sports bra that gives proper support to your breasts while you are engaged with micro-movements of your body. For an exercise like yoga where the entire concentration is on stretching and increasing the flexibility and not weight lifting or running. You could opt for a low to medium impact bra. If you want added support and better shape then you could pick a padded sports bra too. Steer clear of all kinds of fancy bras for your yoga sessions, the ones with underwires, push-up cookies or lacy fabrics.

Breathable Clothes

Depending on the type of yoga you practice and your hormones, you may sweat a little or maybe a lot. Particularly if you’re sweating a lot, it’s important to wear breathable and moisture-wicking clothes. We recommend you to wear tank tops, easy-breezy tops with cut-outs, yoga pants with mesh inserts, basically, styles that have ventilation. Choose breathable fabrics like cotton and moisture-wicking fabrics like nylon or polyamide.

Air Down There

You are most likely to overlook this factor, especially when we are talking about yoga. While you try to flex your body by doing different asanas, you stretch your body a lot, and it’s really important for you to give attention to the breathability factor down there. You should avoid wearing undies crafted from lace or polyester fabric. Instead, go for something that’s a blend of cotton and spandex to provide you with both breathability and stretch
